The Centre for Lifelong Learning

The Centre for lifelong learning at the University of Kragujevac has been established within Tempus project „Development of Lifelong Learning Framework in Serbia“ whose apparatus is the University of Kragujevac. The Centre for Lifelong Learning works on the creation of organizational and institutional conditions for involving the University of Kragujevac into the field of Lifelong Learning, as well as for connecting The Centre with other university centres for lifelong learning in Serbia. Concerning the fact that learning throughout the whole life represents one of the priorities in knowledge-based society and economy, it is necessary to open education towards the widest population in order to answer, as good as possible, to the chalenges issued in the process of globalization. Among other things, the Centre has the mission to bring about the partnership between all relevant stateholders: state and its apparatus, company, local communities, educational institutions. By organizing round tables, conferences, and related manifestations, the Centre for Lifelong Learning, at the University of Kragujevac, introduse social dialog and by the research of employer demands for new kinds of knowledge and skills at the labour market, organizing courses, workshops and trainings it directly motivates individuals to constantly develop and gain new and applicable kinds of knowledge.

The Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Kragujevac is placed at the Faculty of Economics, office E-6. More deteailed information on Tempus project and the work of the Centre can be found on the web site www.delfis.kg.ac.rs.

The Centre for Economic Research

More than half of a century, Faculty of  Economics in Kragujevac have positioned itself  as a respectable institution,  in scientific, research and consultant sense. As a high-educational institution, Faculty enables staff in the fields of General economics and Management, offering  the opportunity for bachelor, master and doctoral studies’ enrollment. Throughout  its scientific and educational activity, Faculty strives to build up leading position in the country and region, giving its contribution to the development through education of economists and managers, as well as through impelling scientific and research work within fundamental and applied  research. Today, there are 80 professors and assistants working at the Faculty, and there are more than 3 800 students.

In striving to put the cooperation with economy at higher quality level, in 2008 Faculty of Economics created the Centre for economic research. Basic task of the Centre includes organizing and providing professional consultant service.

The centre offers the types of education adapted to specific needs of business users which are designed in cooperation with clients. The types of education are organized at the Faculty of Economics, in Kragujevac, and, if necessary, our consultants can hold trainings in clients’offices (in-house trainings).

Concerning consulting field, the Centre for economic research offers to its clients the following:

  • Development of pre-investment and investment studies
  • Creating of promotional strategies

  • Offering professional advice on development of corporation image

  • Project writing for various purposes and aims.

Appart from the mentioned fields, the Centre for economic research  will adapt its capacities  according to specific demands of its clients, so as to improve overall business deals.

The Publishing Centre

In this period, at the Faculty, within CIDEF project, a few dozens of textbooks and large number of  monographs have been published. Having in mind that, at the same time, among other publishers, more textbooks have been published, whose authors are the teachers of this Faculty, it is evident that great potential is in question. By its merging within publishing business at the Faculty, it would promote this high-educational institution as an important publisher of literature on economics, in the country. That kind of approach would contribute to even greater affirmation of the Faculty, as an institution, and of each of its professor and assistant, as well.

Since 2002, the Faculty has organized, together with the Economists’ Association of Serbia, the conference Institutional Changes as Determinant of Economic Development of Serbia. These conferences have regularly been resulting in publication of monographs of the same  title. In these monographs relevant questions on functioning of economy in Serbia in this period have been discussed. The questions ,which economy of our region is confronted with, debated over institutional solutions and structural changes, development and growth of economy, branch and regional problems. The monographs, results of the conferences Foreign Capital as a Development Factor for Economy in Transition, organized by the Faculty of Economics, have also been published.

The monographs, results of the realized projects on basic research and Tempus project, whose apparatus was the Faculty of Economics in Kragujevac have been published:

  • Strategy of Regional Development in Serbia;
  • Corporative Management  in Conditions of Transition;
  • Rationalization of the Postgraduate Studies in Business Management and Economics in Serbia.

Published monographs, the results of prepared for publishing and defended doctoral theses  of the professors of our Faculty, are also worth mentioning.

The Faculty publishes regularly the magazine Economics Horizons, in which original articles on economics  and management are published, in order to further improve and develop science and practise.
